Conducting In-Action Reviews and After-Action Reviews of the public health response to COVID-19: A European perspective

There are many potential benefits from assessing the lessons learned from the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic thus far. These include identifying what has worked well, what needs improvement, and what challenges may be on the horizon. In order to facilitate such learning, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) proposes conducting In-Action Reviews, which can be organised to enable optimisation of the public health response in the coming months. During later phases of the pandemic, full-scale After-Action Reviews will be important to guide preparedness and response planning and to strengthen health systems in the coming years. This Webinar presents the development of ECDC guidance in this area of work in the context of its other activities surrounding COVID-19.
