Variants, vaccines and HIV care: COVID-19 information for people with HIV and their service providers

While COVID-19 variants of concern are continuing to circulate in Canada, highly effective vaccines have been developed that can reduce the risk of infection and serious illness.  These vaccines are increasingly becoming available across the country, including for people living with HIV. However, clear information is difficult to find and people may have questions about these vaccines, especially in light of variants of concern.

This information session will provide people with HIV and their service providers with answers to some common questions about COVID-19 vaccines and variants of concern. There will be time for questions from the audience as well.

Moderator: Shriya Hari, CATIE

Speakers:

  • Muluba, Communications Specialist and Health Advocate
  • Dr. Darrell Tan, Clinician-Scientist in the Division of Infectious Diseases, St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto

This event is the second of a series of information sessions focused on COVID-19 biomedical knowledge relevant to communities disproportionately affected by HIV. To stay up to date, sign up for Webinar Updates by email.
