Rapid Review: COVID-19 Case and Contact Management Strategies in Canada

In collaboration with Public Health Physicians of Canada, NAO has produced a study of COVID-19 case and contact management strategies in the Canadian context.  It outlines how case and contact management is an essential component of a comprehensive response strategy to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Such work is complicated by various factors, including staffing issues, imperfect technologies, and protecting population subgroups rendered particularly vulnerable to poorer COVID-19 outcomes. This rapid review describes the case and contact management strategies that have been deployed in jurisdictions across Canada to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and identifies the challenges involved in carrying out this public health effort.

Public Health Systems in Canada - Report

This is work that began as a resident initiative several years ago and elements will be out-of-date. We hope it will be of use to residents, public health physicians, and others however – including furthering the goals of the public health system as an object of research and understanding how changes to our public health structures impact our abilities to improve health outcomes and decrease inequities.
