An information epidemic has accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic. Information gaps, a mixture of misinformation and malicious disinformation, along with a rapid rise in the volume of information are making it harder for people to know how to best protect themselves and each other. This can lead to harmful behaviours and the erosion of social cohesion. Improving the management of this ‘infodemic’ is critical for a successful pandemic response, and should include any lessons learned being applied to strengthen health systems. So which tools and techniques can we add to our toolbox in this effort? Where do we need more research and innovation to strengthen the global response? Join us for a discussion with Dr. Czerniak for this speaker series event, which will be hosted at a special time.
