About this event

Integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence in systematic reviews: The JBI approach to Mixed Methods Systematic Reviews

Mixed methods systematic reviews (MMSR) have become increasingly popular to clinicians, researchers and policy makers as they provide an innovative approach for addressing important questions in healthcare. This approach to systematic review draws upon the strengths of both quantitative and qualitative studies and overcomes the issues associated with independent synthesis of one type of evidence alone.

The seminar will provide an overview of the JBI approach to MMSR and will provide some practical considerations for people conducting their own MMSR or those who use MMSR.

The methodology highlights the key elements to consider when undertaking mixed reviews and how these elements impact on the approach to synthesis. A set of examples to illustrate the different approaches to synthesis will also be provided. The webinar will conclude with some of the most common methodological pitfalls associated with conducting a MMSR.

This webinar will be recorded. Subscribe to JBI's YouTube channel to be alerted when the recorded webinar is available.
