We have all had to change the way we work in response to COVID-19. Keeping up with new guidance, responding to the changing environment, and navigating uncertainty has become the new normal and at times can be overwhelming. The COVID-19 Community of Practice is a space for family physicians across Ontario to connect and learn from each other during this challenging time.

Every 2 to 3 weeks, hear updates from experts on the latest COVID evidence and policy and connect with fellow family physicians on practical ways to innovate and address COVID challenges on the ground. Sessions are highly interactive and designed based on attendee questions. Each session is recorded and shared after the event along with the session slides, resources, and FAQ.

This COVID-19 Community of Practice is a joint initiative from the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) and the Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP).

The COVID-19 Community of Practice for Ontario Family Physicians is a one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program that has been certified for up to a total of 32 credits.

All about Paxlovid

Please join us for the 43rd in our series 'Changing the way we work' on Friday, April 22nd at 7:55-9:15am. Family doctors can now prescribe Nirmatrelvir/Ritonavir (Paxlovid), a new antiviral drug that can reduce the risk of hospitalization and death among patients at high-risk for developing serious illness from COVID-19. But many questions remain. Which patients would benefit the most? What risks should we be aware of? How do we manage drug interactions? Where can patients get the medications? How do we navigate differences between patient eligibility and expert scientific advice? We’ll be discussing these issues in depth with our panel of experts and do our best to answer your question
