Join us to explore practical approaches to fostering more equitable engagement with a broad diversity of people in the health system. This session features two examples of initiatives designed to address inequity in healthcare organizations and systems: the UNITE project and Equity-Mobilizing Partnerships in Community (EMPaCT).
Learn how the UNITE project was co-designed with people with lived and living experience to address stigma faced by people living with mental health and substance use challenges. From working with patient partners to ensure those perspectives are reflected in everything from policies to programs, the UNITE project offers learnings applicable to creating safe environments across healthcare.
Explore how EMPaCT supports people implementing projects to learn from people with diverse lived experiences to be more inclusive and reduce health inequities. This case study will examine how lived experiences can inform project design to improve health equity in communities.
