Many health promoters in Ontario have spent the COVID-19 pandemic reassigned to the pandemic response, away from health promotion work. In light of this, Public Health Ontario (PHO) is hosting a webinar series that aims to re-familiarize health promoters with key concepts in health promotion. The series will also benefit professionals in both public and community health who wish to learn more about health promotion. Previous webinars in the series include health promotion, health promotion program planning and evaluation. In the fourth session of the series, Andrea Bodkin, Senior Program Specialist in Health Promotion at Public Health Ontario, will explore concepts related to policy and PHO’s 3 phase, 8 step model for building healthy public policies. Following this, Janet Dawson, Health Promoter, Healthy Public Policy at Peterborough Public Health will provide an on-the-ground example of policy work. Intended audience: Health promoters working at public health units, community health centres, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Ontario. Managers and directors at similar organizations, as well as public health/health promotion students, are a secondary audience. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
